How will you summarize your placement experience and present your summary to a class?

1. Choose a FORMAT:

​

 

You'll need to test it out to make sure it can be accessed from the school classroom where you present. 

Please let us know if you have more ideas to share with others!  We want to make your presentations interesting for your audience!  Experiment with different fonts, colours, clip art, animation, and other insertions. Also, try different special effects with transitions and bullets to see what you can learn.

2. Get started.

​

*MINIMUM OF 10 SLIDES. LESS WORDS ON SLIDES, MORE TALKING DURING PRESENTATION.  THE BEST PRESENTATIONS ARE THE ONES WITH GREAT VISUALS AND THE PRESENTER 'TALKING' TO THE CLASS.*  

 

 

Introduction Slide:

 

  • your name

  • your placement name

  • your tie-in course (explain the significance of your tie-in course)

  • a photo of your placement

 

 

Topics for content:  (You can incorporate more than one topic on a slide) 

​

 

  • health and safety at your placement

  • the type of business

  • a typical day

  • a detailed explanation of a specific task and skills needed

  • describe something that happened at your placement e.g. a field trip, training program, an accident

  • show what training you need for a career at your placement, include cost of training

  • a list of workplace terminology and the meanings

  • describe some of the equipment that you use

  • a history of your placement

  • describe 3 personality traits that are required at your placement

  • the career background of a supervisor or a co-worker  e.g. education, training, job description, roles and responsibilities

 

 

Concluding Slide:

​

 

  • What have you learned from this placement?

  • What have you enjoyed most about your placement?

  • How has this placement impacted your future career goals e.g apprenticeship, college?

 

 

 

 

 

Note: Text should be kept to a minimum! Photos / videos speak a thousand words!

 

You will be explaining the details orally.  Stick to the main points. Use your completed logs and journals to help in gathering information.
